Gain Skills for Life

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week –  having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Who are we?

1st Harmondsworth Scout Group provides exciting and engaging experiences for young people aged 6 to 18 from Harmondsworth and the surrounding borough of Hillingdon.

Everyone’s welcome here – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

This website was created during the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020. As a Scout Group we were finding it hard to keep in contact with all our members and tried to secure  funding to help us create a website where we would be able to share information and keep in touch. Due to the pandemic situation there was no funding available and we did not have the skills to put a website together.

However, Kathleen at Hillingdon Community Trust, (now fund managing only), passed our email on to Rebecca at Heathrow Community Fund who put out a call to her contacts and was able to match us with a LHR employee who had stepped forward during this difficult time offering his services as a volunteer – Joseph Gregory.

Joseph Gregory contacted us and offered to work with us to create this website. This website is the result of Joseph’s skills, knowledge, kindness and willingness to step forward when the community needed help and we thank him for this.
